Scarlet robe tea (大红袍) is the most prized among the wuyi teas, and best encapsulates the balance between the mineral, roasted notes and fruity, floral notes that distinguishes Wuyi rock teas from other oolong teas. The traditional way of roasting tea has to be adhered to for Scarlet Robe, and this develops a consistent woody and roasted taste profile with a good body.
